American Airlines Flight 77
Before getting to where flight 77 ended up, after the missile to damage this building had arrived, or a bomb as some witnesses describe, I'd just like to recap on the work done by others. I didn't want to believe that this whole tragedy was anything other than a terrorist attack. I watched the few frames to the left, over and over. The building is supposed to have been hit at 9:38 am by a 100 tonne aircraft, traveling [according to the report] at 780 ft/s, that's 530 miles/hr, with 32.25 Tons of fuel which would release 86 million BTU in the 5 minute fuel fire. The official death toll is 189, 125 staff in the Pentagon, 64 on Flight 77. [nb. The casualty figures for flight 77 vary between 56, 58 and 64, depending on whose report you are reading]

A month before 9/11, 5 foot Hani Hanjour the alleged hijack pilot was declined the rental on a single-engine Cessna because he had trouble controlling it; according to the instructor, despite having a commercial license this man "couldn't fly at all". A month later he managed to crash a 757 into the ground floor of the Pentagon without breaking the first floor windows above the primary impact point.
Apart from there being 'No Arab names' on Flight 77, this question bothered me. Why go to the trouble and risk of not putting the plane into the building? The answer ironically seems to be that it would have caused too much damage, and extremely difficult for precision.
The other thing that got me was the complete lack of damage to the Pentagon lawn. NASA's controlled Impact Demonstration shows what one might expect to see.
who might contemplate inflicting such insanity ? Operation Northwoods documents how it has happened before.
The Project for the New American Century or PNAC, states that the primary goal of US geopolitical and military supremacy is to come through preemptive wars like Iraq. In 2002, As fear and anger swept the US in the wake of 9/11, congress initially funded DARPA's Total Information Awareness Program. The slogan for this program is ''Knowledge is Power!.' Under the cover of the war on Terror, the government decided it has a right to be privy to every conversation, every transaction and even our thoughts.
John Poindexter (convicted in 1990 of 5 felony counts of lying to Congress, destroying official documents, and obstructing congressional inquiries) was assigned to head the Information Awareness Office.
In 2003, Congress cancelled the program. However, aspects of the surveillance program continue, with total disregard for the constitution.
The US Senate has had to issue the White House with NINE subpoenas demanding documents relating to its policy of spying on citizens without getting warrants or other legal clearance. In June 2006 the Supreme Court found that the Bush administration had violated the Geneva Convention at Guantanamo. The most amazing detail of the journey of flight 77 is the fact that a few months after 9/11 the disassembled airframe did actually end up on the west coast of America.
However, on 9/11 the aircraft headed back to DC, exiting the area just South of Washington, crossing the junction of Leesburg Pike, N Van Dorn Street and King Street, 3.42 miles from the Pentagon.

The flight continued on a path off the coast of New Jersey on a trajectory placing it 80 miles from the World Trade Center, on up past Nantucket to a point 380 km off the New Hampshire coast, where it turned back to the mainland and landed for a short stay at Pease AFB.

The airframe was delivered to the West Coast of America, where the decision was taken to brake it down into small parts and distribute these to a number of locations.
There has been a bit of a panic on recently, because those in authority would like to have had those parts melted down. Unfortunately, they have been told, "For all I know, some of the parts may even have re-entered circulation". Those involved in Aircraft maintenance, would do well to check any serial numbers very carefully.
The remnants of one of the engines of AA flight 77 (representing about half of the engine) can be found at a location 180 km west and 14 km North off the coast of San Diego.
